1. Who we are

MarkPoll is operated by Timothée Gauchez, trading as Likn (auto-entrepreneur), based in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, France. Contact: support-markpoll@oxoghost.dev

2. Data we collect

We collect the minimum data required to operate the service:

  • Account data:your email address and, optionally, your GitHub username if you sign in via GitHub OAuth.
  • Poll data:questions and options you create.
  • Vote data:a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address + User-Agent + poll ID. We cannot reverse this to identify you.
  • SVG impression data:a one-way hash of the requesting IP and the HTTP referrer, used for analytics.
  • Billing data:if you subscribe to Pro, your billing details are handled directly by Stripe. We only store your Stripe customer ID.

3. How we use your data

  • To deliver the service (create polls, count votes, serve SVG images).
  • To send transactional emails (sign-in links) via Resend.
  • To process payments via Stripe.
  • To display analytics to poll creators (Pro plan).

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.

4. Cookies

We use two types of cookies:

  • Session cookies:set by better-auth to keep you signed in. These expire when your session ends or after the configured session duration.
  • Vote cookies:HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict cookies set after you vote on a poll, to prevent duplicate votes. They are scoped to this domain and expire after 1 year.

We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies.

5. Data retention

Account and poll data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised vote hashes are retained for statistical integrity and cannot be linked back to you.

As a resident of the European Union, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data, as well as the right to data portability and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support-markpoll@oxoghost.dev.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
